The best kind of career development is consistent and incremental. I'll give you something to think about each month, complete with practical examples.
For roughly two years, I ran an internal newsletter at Google for career development. After the layoffs, I thought about what was actionable that I could do to help, and a friend made me realize I could continue to coach people on their careers from the other side. After all, those are the folks that probably need it most right now.
So here we are. Once a month, I’ll send out something to think about that might help you grow in a core skill. While my background is in site reliability engineering, I’ll do my best to keep it general. Feedback is always welcome.
